Episode 9 Extra!
Okay, so please don’t commit political violence. Really. Even against someone like Mitch McConnel, who has done some much harm to so many people. Voting him out of office when the chance comes again, or finding ways to otherwise limit his power or remove him from power should be the goal. He’s a monster, but political violence opens a Pandora’s box that cannot be shut.
In case you’re reading this in the future and can’t remember exactly which of McConnel’s shitty actions this comic is referring to, it’s the $600 stimulus checks that are finally coming after nearly a year of hardship during the Covid-19 Pandemic. McConnel isn’t the only person responsible for holding up relief or finally providing so little after a year of suffering, but he bears a very large part of the blame. “Punch Mitch McConnel in the face” has been a popular sentiment for a few years, and this latest bit of shameless obstructionism has only made that sentiment more understandable. And yes, since I’m sure someone will bring it up there are lots of politicians on both sides of the aisle who could use a punch in the face. if they got in line it would be a crazy long line. But McConnel would still be at the front of it.
I’m working on the next Ghost Kiss comic now. hopefully you won’t have to wait another year to see it.

I love the look on his face when he realizes she could actually do it and get away with it. Like, “Oh no, am I obligated to stop her? Or do I just pretend I never heard any of that?”
The flaw in this plan is she’d have to kiss him though.
I’m sure she’s built up a tolerance for kissing absolutely disgusting dudes. But Mitch may be too much.
If it works through sharing a drinking straw, it might work through spitting on somebody’s face, and/or kissing her own knuckles right before the punch.
It might! It doesn’t though. I have a sequence planned (will we ever see it) where she tests a lot of stuff like this. She’s not sure if it works through a straw. She doesn’t THINK it does, but she’s not 100% sure.
Be almost hilarious if she did that only to find out that Mitch is the idiot in charge of the super program and now doesn’t believe she works for them.
As minority leader, he’s a non-voting member of the Senate Intelligence Committee. So, his role in their operations would be minimal.
Just seen this. Prescient. Wish more could have read it before the 6th.
This is why you are my favorite creator.
Only sad I saw this late, but glad I saw it
Thank you very much!
Every day Mitch is no longer majority leader, I laff. Have fun with your useless old man who can no longer pork barrel for you, Kentucky.
Me too!
Turtle Boy still brings home plenty of pork. That, and his seniority, are pretty much the only reason Kentuckians still vote for him. After all, the other Senator from KY is Rand Paul. Paul is far from ideal, but he’s a vast improvement over Turtle Boy.
He has got a face you would never get tired of slapping though.
Good you’ve added a commentary to this page. Most readers outside the US (like me), even if interested in America’s affairs, do not recognize minor American politicians.
I wouldn’t expect anyone not interested in American politics to be familiar with McConnel, but he’s hardly a minor politician. In fact, he’s arguably been the most powerful and influential American politician for the last two decades..
I am 100% OK with incorporating your political views in your comics (especially when they’re related to human rights) but I would prefer if you’d incorporate them into story. Instead of creating short pages showing what your characters think or feel about racism/police violence/inept government I would recommend making stories where Ghost Kiss & Co encounter such issues.
nearly every American was discussing Mitch McConnel and stimulus checks at the end of the year when I published this comic. Mya and Greg are both Americans, and I felt like this was a conversation they would likely have. I also felt like it was a good way to show more of their character. I think a short 1 page comic showing them talking about this over a lunch break was a good way to address the issue.
In the past I have done full stories centered around racism, police violence, sexism and harassment. But I think a single page gag strip is fine too.
Oh! So looking forward to this! I’ve been waiting all this time!
Hope you can make more of these comics. =)
I wish that I knew when this updated.
Sorry. I’ve been working on updates, but its tough to find any time to complete anything.
As someone who also is not a fan of Moscow Mitch, I always thought it would be funny to run ads saying he should be prevented from holding office for being a genetically modified turkey. I’m considering making a video accusing him of being such a creature, if only because mocking him makes him lose his focus and control.
I’m not a huge fan of making fun of anyone’s appearance, but he really does look like a cartoon.
Heheh. Well you have something in common with President Trump who has no great regard for Mitch. It’s no secret that he’d like to see McConnel replaced as the Republican SenateLeader. Doubt that will happen barring something ill happening to Mitch. While there a a few Senators who’d like to see him step down, there’s no great disaffection among most of them.
It has been a year, and I think that was a good laugh. I know you meant it and it was not intended as a joke, but now your comment seems like the punch line and I appreciated it.
In hindsight its crazy that this was just a few days before an attempted insurrection.
