Looks like Mya is…
T R I G G E R E D
booty on ten
Don’t forget! It’s also the classic booty-boob pose! (It’s especially popular among contortionists!)
I never understand why people think this is an impossible pose or that you need to be a contortionist to achieve it. This specific panel was referenced from a photo of a real woman. I can pretty easily do this pose myself. It seems to me that a lot of the contempt for this pose that I often see comes from the Hawkeye Initiative. I think when that started it had a great message and did a great job at pointing out some really ridiculous illustrations and awful art. But as more people started contributing I think the point became lost, and a lot of the art that was ridiculed was actually correctly rendered and well drawn.
of course, there were two things going on with the Hawkeye Initiative. The original point was to point out illustrations where female characters were overly or ridiculously sexualized by replacing them with Hawkeye. I think this was both a neat and fun idea and I think it brought a lot of attention to how sexualized female characters are in superhero comics compared to their male counterparts. I think it also eventually got a little out of hand, with a lot of poor examples and a lot illustrations being unfairly criticized. The other thing going on with the Hawkeye initiative was (I think) a kind of unintended side effect where all of the sudden everyone on the internet was an anatomy and pose expert and any and every image that anyone thought might not be 110% anatomically correct came under intense scrutiny (whetted the critic had any idea what they were talking about or not and whether the artist had an anatomically realistic style or not).
“I never understand why people think this is an impossible pose or that you need to be a contortionist to achieve it.”
Certainly not impossible, and I didn’t say so. I know few who are capable of doing so, despite knowing several circus artists. It is a pose that requires effort, and at least one hand on your hip.
I think it’s silly, but I feel you misunderstood my poking fun at it for contempt, Jake :3
Also, I’ve never heard of The Hawkeye Initiative. Is that a program made to teach kids how to kill multiple men by flicking your fingernails at them? ^3^
“I think it brought a lot of attention to how sexualized female characters are in superhero comics compared to their male counterparts…”
I feel this has been slightly exaggerated and sensationalized.
“I think it also eventually got a little out of hand, with a lot of poor examples and a lot illustrations being unfairly criticized.”
Total agreement here.
I didn’t think you were criticizing, I just took advantage of the comment to rant a little. I should have made it clear that it wasn’t aimed at you or anyone in particular.

This might be oversharing, but… “booty-boobs pose” is, basically, how I sleep. And, I’m not a contortionist by any means, so!
(Yes, that’s really what’s comfortable, for me.)
I like to think that Mya actually speaks the acronyms out loud, rather than the artist (Jake~) was just trying to save space. It’s an “interesting” quirk.
Yeah, I think she does too.
Sorry, Mya, but you need to either stay off social media, or grow some thicker skin. I’m not saying it’s fair or right, but it’s reality.
