Jake, I do indeed enjoy the Ghost Kiss quite a lot. Interesting premise, lovely art, and like all your work, an appealing main character with actual depth and development. Looking forward to more. And if you ever do decide to expand the crossover, I vote to ship Mya and comicJake please! I mean, she needs a boyfriend who wouldn’t mind constantly wondering who the heck he’s kissing every time they make out, and based on how well he took the arrival of a gorgon in his toilet and all the ensuing madcap adventures, he seems like the man for the job. And poor comicJake has had such a year–he deserves the arrival of a hot number into his love life. That’s my vote, anyhow. Now I’ll go forth and spread the word-of-mouth as you suggest.
First of all, Dang You! Had to go look up Mary Sue, got ‘TV Troped’, you know the rest… But, Yeah! It would be a super, double-twist, totally meta Mary Sue rarely seen outside of tournament play. I totally ship it, and I patiently await the day that I can say, like you, “my ship is canon”.
I like the idea of comic Jake being the guy she thinks she loves and keeps coming back to when other relationships fall apart. Every single time she wipes his memory and every time she tries to make the ‘start of the relationship’ right, as she tries to do it over and over and figure out what she’s doing wrong. Because every time, it seems to be going so well, then she fucks it up (or she thinks she does) and she hit’s the reset. “Maybe next time, I can do it right. I’ll give him a few months of peace without me before I try again.”
I’d like it if Mya used her powers on Modest (after Mya’s identity was reveled and Modest was going to revel it for some weird reason) so Ghost kiss, kisses her hand then presses it to Modest’s lips (so no physical contact with a minor but a little saliva transfers).
Then Modest’s snakes still remember and Mya has to worry about them.
“Nothing, a super hero was supposed to be there, but never showed up. So I think we had a free class.”
“Oh, OK.”
Nah, I can see her going through that entire presentation twice (◔ ◡ ◔)
… I’m not sure she do it right second time. Maybe on third?
