Episode 1.2
I originally created this story for a black superheros anthology that Pharoah Bolding was putting together a few years ago. That anthology never really came together and Ghost Kiss kind of lingered at the edge of my work space waiting to be finished. Some of you may remember that I posted a black and white version of the story on Modestmedusa.com at the end of 2013. I was in the hospital after suffering a pulmonary embolism and wasn’t in any state to draw my weekly Medusa strips, so Ghost Kiss made her first appearance as filler. Since then I’ve gone back and made some changes to the comic. The most obvious is that I’ve colored and re-lettered the whole thing, but I’ve also redrawn Mya’s face in almost every panel. I have a bad habit of drawing the same face for ever character, and I wanted to make sure that Mya didn’t just look like Medusa without snake hair. I filled up several sketch book pages trying to figure out her look!
Panel one’s reactions are great.
This guy ain’t thinking fourth dimensionally. I mean, come on, what if she’s a huge trick or treater?
Or really into cosplay?
Hmm… This guy started to put pants on on the previous page. What happenned to his pants? D:
He must have been so surprised that they dropped back down to the floor. Or he just takes his pants off when he’s excited. A lot of guys do that.
